Made from birch and poplar plywood with real glass windows, this freelance bogie Railcar coach is a sturdy design which would be at home on any railway.

Available as either a kit or as a finished model.

The powered bogie has been specially manufactured for us by Boot Lane Works. Their tried and tested chassis is the ideal power unit. Of course it's four wheeled drive. Even in the kit version, it's supplied pre-assembled and ready to go.

The electronic power unit (batteries and speed controller) are all pre-wired in a box under the chassis. For the kit version there are just two wires coming out for you to connect to the motor. Not only does this make the kit easy to assemble, the weight is in just the right place.

Like our coaches, the roof is removable (it s a very tight fit, not intended to be removed every day).

The Railcar is 138mm high, not including the few millimetres for the ventilator, and 101mm wide in the body, 113mm including the steps. It s 400mm long including couplings.

The Railcar is not re-gaugeable.

Finished & kit versions in 32mm gauge should always be in stock, but demand is not yet known. So please allow up to 4 weeks for delivery. The 45mm versions will be made to order so similarly, please allow anything up to 4 weeks.

Update The Railcar is only available radio controlled. We hope to have a manual version soon.

The built in 6v NiMH batteries are charged by a 2.1mm power socket. We don't supply a battery harger as most people have one (and they begrudge having to pay for another!).
